The Nagaur cattle fair

Nagaur is well known for its cattle fair which is celebrated between late January and early February . And this fair is very important for the animal market . Here you will see the negotiation between the owners and the buyers. You will find thousands of romadaires, cattle and horses well decorated and painted with great pleasure, and different games: camel races, pulling competitions, folk dancing and traditional songs of the Kalbaliya community. A moment not to be missed for an approach of India off the beaten path!

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

Day 2: Drive to Mandawa

Free meals and overnight in Mandawa
Departure for Mandawa (Shekhawati). The villages are scattered and nothing suggests the presence of beautifully decorated houses. It is in these towns surrounded by the sand dunes that we find the havelis, houses whose interior and exterior walls are decorated with painted frescoes. Arrival in Mandawa, visit the village and camel ride in the deserts of thar at sunset.

Day 3: Bikaner and his camels

Departure towards Bikaner, known for its camel breeding and its magnificent fort. Composed of narrow streets and havelis whose facades are carved in red sandstone, this imposing citadel is rich in history. Arrival in Bikaner, check in at the hotel and visit Junagarh Fort, labyrinth of corridors.

Days 4: At the Nagaur Livestock Fair

Departure for Nagaur. En route, visit the Karni Mata temple which is also known as the Rat Temple. You visit the animal fair and you will have the opportunity to attend many shows: camel races, pull competitions, folk dancing and traditional songs.

Days 5: Free day to discover the fair

The next day after breakfast you have a free day to discover the cattle fair.

Day 6: Drive to Jodhpur, the blue city

Free meals and overnight in Jodhpur.
After breakfast, departure to Jodhpur, the Blue City. It is located on the edge of the Thar Desert. This city is also known as the city of the sun because of the almost constant sunshine it enjoys due to its location. Visit Mehrangarh Fort, and Jaswant Thada, white marble mausoleum. 140 km / 3h drive.


Days 7: Departure to Jaipur, the pink city

Free meals and overnight in Jaipur.
Arrive in Jaipur and check in at the hotel for 02 nights. Then in the evening, attend a ceremony at the Birla Temple.

Days 8: Discovery of Jaipur

Free meals and overnight in Jaipur.
Departure to visit the city. Take an elephant ride at Fort Amber. Then visit Jal Mahal, a magnificent palace witnessing the luxurious life of the Maharajas and the astronomical observatory. In the evening, free time to visit the local markets MI road and Johari Bazaar.

Days 9: Fathepur Sikri, the Ghost City

Free meals and overnight in Agra.
Departure for Agra. En route, visit Fathepur Sikri, (the ghost town) destined to become the bright Mughal capital of Akbar, but abandoned after a few years. Arrival in Agra. You can enjoy the sunset and the view of the Taj Mahal, its garden located near the Yamuna River. 270 km / 5h drive.

Days 10: Visit the Taj Mahal and return to Delhi by car

Early in the morning with the first rays of the sun, visit the most famous monument in the world, the Taj Mahal, then leave the hotel and visit the red fort. Then, drive to Delhi and transfer to the airport to take the flight back to your country.
